It’s Time to Re-Engage Your Workforce!”


Join us for a dynamic panel discussion with local HR Professionals as they provide us with details on how their organizations identified, implemented best practices, and measured their employee engagement program success. 

An engaged workforce is critical to having a high performing organization. Employers today are challenged to remain competitive in the market while finding new ways to increase employee motivation/ engagement resulting in low turnover.  Our group of panelist will reveal lessons learned, best practices and metrics to engage the workforce.  This session is intended to give all HR Professionals some tools and best practices to re-engage their workforce tomorrow!

Participants will learn:

  •         How to identify when there is low workforce engagement
  •         Best practices on how to increase engagement
  •         How to measure the success of your engagement program  


This is a 75-minute interactive panel presentation facilitated by Meredith Wise, President of EANE and the following local HR Professionals.



Meredith Wise – President, Employers Association of the Northeast

Meredith Wise, SPHR, President of EANE will facilitate this highly interactive session.  With more than twenty-five years of experience in HR management and over a decade as President of EANE, Meredith Wise spearheads the EANE mission, leading a staff of 20+ professionals with four offices in three states.  She is known for her focus on employee engagement within companies and organizations.

Under her leadership, EANE has grown its footprint, expanded its geographic reach, doubled its professional staff … all to meet the needs of the changing workforce and, ultimately, to benefit EANE members. Meredith and her team help member companies – including c-suite executives -- through economic downturns and recovering and as they face critical challenges with fewer resources.  She remains abreast of the ever-changing healthcare models, frequently advising members from both a compliance and motivational perspective.

Active locally and nationally, Meredith is currently chair of the Board of Directors of the Employer Associations of America, the national organization for employers, as well as a board member for the Human Resource Management Association of Western New England. She serves on the boards of both the Regional Employment Board of Hampden County, the region’s primary planner on workforce development, and also Riverside Industries, which offers life skills development and employment options for people with developmental disabilities in Western Massachusetts.

Meredith has a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and marketing from the University of Vermont and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the Society of Human Resource Management.



Patricia Guenette – Director of Human Resources and Training, Consolidated Health Plans

Patty offers over 20 + years of experience in HR and senior management positions.  She is an active member of SHRM, EANE and American Management Association and has served on the Board of Directors as Vice President and President for the local SHRM chapter for over twelve years. She is a Certified Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).  She also has served as Secretary and Liaison to the MA State Council of SHRM for a period of five years.  Patty’s HR experience extends to performance management, compensation, benefits, labor analysis, recruitment, employment law compliance, employee relations, and training & professional development. Patty is a graduate of STCC and Lesley College and lives in Belchertown, MA.  She is married with one son who recently graduated from Wheaton College.  Patty also is an avid walker supporting various charities in the local community. 

Nick Haenchen – VP, Human Resources & Leadership Development, Springfield YMCA

Nick has extensive experience in leadership development, diversity & inclusion, and long-term strategic business planning.  Additionally, he has over a decade of leadership training experience and has worked with a number of uni- and multi- generational workplaces to understand the impact of generational tendencies on human capital.  He completed his M.Sc. at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT while studying Organizational Leadership and HR Management. His B.A. was completed at Alvernia University in Reading, PA, where he studied Psychology, Communications, and Foreign Language.

Mike Piotrowski - AVP Business Analytics, MassMutual

Mike’s current responsibilities include employee engagement and pre-employment assessment.  Mike has held prior positions focused on HR analytics and research at The Hartford, United Healthcare, and Travelers Insurance.  Mike holds a Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of Connecticut.

Be sure to note on your registration if you are requesting HRCI recertification credit and/or SHRM PDCs.  There is a $40 fee for guests (payable at the door) and a $20 fee for “no shows” (those who do not cancel by noon on the business day of the dinner meeting and by 4pm the day before a breakfast meeting).

This program has been submitted for 1.25 General Recertification Credits toward recertification of your Human Resources Certificate Institute (HRCI) designation AND approved for SHRM-CP and SCP PDCs.  Please sign your attendance and document your email at the registration desk after the program.  You must view the entire program to be eligible for recertification credits and/or PDCs.  Your certificate(s) will be emailed to you shortly after the event.

Welcome to the web site created for human resources, personnel and industrial relations professionals from throughout Western New England.

Since 1945, the Human Resource Management Association of Western New England, originally known as the Industrial Relations Association, has been a progressive ogranization who's purpose is to:

  • promote professional relationships; encourage and facilitate operating effectiveness of human resource professionals;
  • bring to members a greater understanding of human resource issues;
  • improve standards of performance in our profession;
  • and provide a means for exchanging ideas and discussing problems common to human resources administration;

Dinner meetings are normally held the third Monday of each month featuring speakers and programs on a variety of human resource topics.
